Viciunai Group is a producer of surimi products, fish, seafood, salads and flour products, with production facilities in Lithuania and other countries around the world, as well as trading and logistics companies in many European and Asian countries. As a significant part of international business and society, and in recognition of its responsibility to its customers, suppliers, employees and society, it is committed to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, occupational health and safety, ethics and socially responsible business practices.

This Policy, together with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, is an integral part of Viciunai Group's Vision and Values, Food Safety and Quality, Environmental, Transparency and Business Ethics Policies, and is applied in all Viciunai Group companies.

The Policy on Occupational Health and Safety, Social Responsibility and Human Rights is communicated to all employees of the Company and its affiliates and is publicly available to our customers, suppliers, business partners, the general public and stakeholders.

Human Rights

We unconditionally guarantee to all employees the right to enjoy all the rights and freedoms enshrined in the Declaration of Human Rights, without discrimination on the grounds of race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.

Occupational Safety and Health

·         We ensure safe and healthy working conditions and systematically assess risks and potential hazards to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses. We take all measures to eliminate or reduce the risks of illness and injury.

·         We periodically train employees in occupational health and safety rules, safe working methods and awareness-raising and personal responsibility for their own safety, health and working environment.

·         We continuously improve our occupational safety and health management system by analysing its results and identifying actions for improvement.

·         We ensure that we meet the requirements of all legislation, standards and other regulations that apply to our field of activity. 

Working Conditions

·         We provide all employees with working time and rest periods, periodic paid holidays, and reasonable limits on working hours in accordance with statutory procedures.

·         We pay our employees a wage that reflects the requirements of the law, the work they do and their competence. All employees are made aware of the wage system and the terms and conditions of their employment before they are recruited, which is documented in the employment contract.

·         Overtime is voluntary and paid in accordance with legal requirements.

·         We strive to ensure that our business partners and recruitment companies comply with the requirements set out in the Declaration of Human Rights and in this Policy with regard to the working conditions of employees, their remuneration for the work they do, and their safety and health.

Social Dialogue

·         We respect and recognise the right of employees to voluntarily form trade unions or associations and to bargain collectively with their employer, in accordance with applicable law. Every employee shall have the right to consult his/her employer and to freedom of peaceful assembly and association. No employee shall be forced to belong to an association.

Career Management and Training

·         We provide the same conditions for personal development and career opportunities for all employees.

·         We continuously improve the skills of our employees, encourage their involvement in improving their performance, the realisation of their talents and their self-expression, and foster their understanding and responsibility in the implementation of the norms of occupational health and safety, social responsibility and ethics in the working environment.

Child Labour, Forced Labour and Migrants

·         We do not impose any forced or compulsory labour standards in our operations, and we require the same from our business partners. No employee shall be forced to work under duress or intimidation by any form of coercion or punishment.

·         All employees, including migrants, are guaranteed wages and working and resting conditions that meet legal requirements.

·         We do not tolerate the exploitation of children, and all employees are recruited in accordance with the statutory age requirements for employment. Temporary employees under the age of 18 are provided with safe and healthy working conditions and are not allowed to work night shifts.

·         We base our employment relations with all employees on the laws and practices of the countries where we operate.

Diversity, Discrimination and Harassment

·         We do not discriminate on the grounds of employment, salary, education, training, career, termination or retirement, race, nationality, religion, age, disability, marital status, family status, sexual orientation, union membership or political opinion.

·         We do not tolerate any physical, verbal or sexual threats, coercion, harassment or intimidation, or rude or degrading behaviour. We treat our employees with respect and protect their dignity.

Human Rights in the Activities of Business Partners

·      We seek to maintain relationships with trusted business partners who adhere to the Declaration of Human Rights and share the same ethical, sustainable and socially responsible business principles and values as we commit to in this Policy. We strive for a two-way dialogue that ensures the realisation of human rights in both our own and our business partners' activities.     

Social Responsibility in Relations with Society

·  We develop partnerships with local communities, academic institutions and interested organisations in public social partnership and environmental projects, contributing to the social development and well-being of society.

POLICY IMPLEMENTATION, MONITORING AND CONTROL

The management of Viciunai Group is committed to upholding these principles of human rights, occupational health and safety, and social responsibility, to allocating the necessary resources to achieve the objectives set out in this Policy, to continuously monitor compliance with these commitments in the day-to-day operations of the Viciunai Group companies, and to calling on all the employees of the Viciunai Group to work together to achieve the common objectives.

We continuously monitor compliance with the principles of the Policy and implement specific monitoring and control programmes. Any irregularities detected shall be brought to the attention of the immediate supervisor or the Company's designated person in charge. Also, in order to ensure proper implementation of the provisions of the Policy, prevention of violations, transparency and trust, the Company has established a Transparency Line by tel. No. +37052103300 and by e-mail transparency@vici.eu for confidential reporting of violations of the Policy and for obtaining the necessary information related to its implementation.

The Company guarantees the confidentiality of whistleblowers and takes all measures to protect whistleblowers from any possible negative consequences.
