From bronze to gold: a significant sustainability leap for Viciunai Group in the EcoVadis assessment
In the EcoVadis assessment, Viciunai Group companies were awarded the Gold Medal, confirming that we rank among the top 5% of organizations globally evaluated by EcoVadis for sustainability performance.
This is an important milestone in the sustainability journey of Viciunai Group and clear evidence that consistent efforts in environmental protection, social responsibility, ethics, and supply chain management deliver tangible results.
More than just a rating
The EcoVadis Gold Medal is more than an assessment—it strengthens trust among customers, partners, and investors while enhancing the company’s competitiveness in international markets. This achievement demonstrates our ability to bring together diverse competencies and initiatives to achieve outstanding results.
In other words, sustainability is not a “solo performance.” Different departments contribute in different ways: some focus on responsible resource use, energy efficiency, and waste reduction; others improve working conditions, employee well-being, and fair relationships with partners; while others responsibly select suppliers, ensuring supply chain transparency and social responsibility.
“Only through collaboration and the involvement of different people and departments can we make sustainability a natural part of our daily work and achieve real change. This recognition is a huge motivation for all of us to do even more together. We certainly have many plans for the future,” says Emilija Jelisejevienė, Sustainability Manager at Viciunai Group.
A growing trend
Viciunai Group’s sustainability journey has shown consistent progress over several years. From a score of 38 points in 2023, we raised the bar to 62 points in 2024 and received a Bronze Medal. This year, after scoring 82 points and making progress across all assessed areas, we were awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal.
Assessment – progress across all areas
Viciunai Group companies have been intensively preparing to meet Sustainability Reporting requirements. In 2025, the ESG double materiality assessment process was completed, material ESG topics were identified, a stakeholder survey was conducted, a gap analysis was performed, and Sustainability Reporting action guidelines were defined. These activities contributed to higher scores across all EcoVadis assessment areas.
Key initiatives by area include:
- Environment – transition to electricity from renewable sources: purchased with guarantees of origin, sourced from remote solar and wind power plants, with part of the energy generated in-house. CO₂ emissions (Scopes 1, 2, and 3) of Viciunai Group companies were assessed and certified through third-party audits.
- Social – employee occupational health and safety management received particularly high evaluation.
- Business ethics – improvement of the partner risk assessment system, determination of anti-corruption maturity levels, and updates to the information security policy.
- Supply chain management – updated ESG risk assessment of suppliers and strengthened contractual sustainability commitments in supplier agreements.
